Biography

David Jarvis is Reader in Local and Regional Economic Development and Co-Director of the Centre for Business in Society (CBiS) at Coventry University. Davidís research career has included roles in both commercial and higher education settings, and in his current post he has responsibility for leading interdisciplinary teams in delivering commissioned projects, providing research-led intelligence in order to inform strategy, policy and practice. Current and recent work, for example, includes: ongoing research with the AA to better understand consumer barriers to adoption of pure electric vehicles in the UK; evaluation of an ambitious UK Growth Deal funded project which aims to implement the latest in vehicle-to-vehicle (V2V) and vehicle-to-infrastructure (V2X) communication technologies on key traffic corridors leading into Coventryís city centre; and a Framework 7 project examining institutional reforms necessary to enhance participation of the EU13 in key EU research, development and innovation programmes.
