Dr.Ir. Igo Besselink is an associate professor at the Eindhoven University of Technology. Igo studied mechanical engineering at the Delft University of Technology from 1985 to 1990 and graduated with credit in the field of vehicle dynamics with professor Hans Pacejka. Thereafter he joined Fokker Aircraft and became responsible for the analysis of landing gear design loads and stability. In 1996 Igo joined TNO automotive in Delft and was responsible for tyre simulation software development and various projects related to vehicle dynamics. Igo obtained his PhD degree from the TU Delft in 2000. In November 2002 Igo started as a part-time lecturer in the field of vehicle dynamics in the Dynamics and Control group of professor Henk Nijmeijer. In 2008 Igo became full time employed by the Eindhoven University of Technology as assistant professor. In 2015 Igo received the best teacher award of the faculty Mechanical Engineering and on January 1st 2016 he was appointed as associate professor, while still being a member of the Dynamics and Control group. Research interests include tyre modelling, dynamics of commercial vehicles, vehicle control and battery electric vehicles.
