Research and Technology Manager
BiographyHolding a PhD in mechanical engineering from Graz University of Technology, Dr. Tatschl joined AVL in 1991 with his research focus on CFD modeling and simulation of multiphase, reactive flows in internal combustion engines and exhaust aftertreatment systems. In recent years, his research interest has expanded into the area of multiphysics-based modeling of electrochemical storage and conversion processes in batteries and fuel cells. Resulting from these research activities, Dr. Tatschl has got more than 100 publications in scientific journals and international conferences. During his work for AVL, Dr. Tatschl has been active in different management positions in the area of CFD development, currently he holds the position Research and Technology Manager in the business unit AVL Advanced Simulation Technologies.
